Dear Nursery and Lil’ Ripples Parents,
We are grateful for the opportunity to minister to your children and want to share important information regarding the transition from our Nursery Ministry to the Lil’ Ripples class.
River of Life Nursery Ministry serves children from birth through age 2. Upon your child’s third birthday, they will begin transitioning to the Lil’ Ripples class (ages 3–5), starting on the first Sunday following their third birthday.
To help make this transition as smooth as possible, we use a quarterly transition period for children turning three. Full transition timelines are as follows:
- January–February–March birthdays: Full transition by April 30
- April–May–June birthdays: Full transition by July 31
- July–August–September birthdays: Full transition by October 31
- October–November–December birthdays: Full transition by January 31
Beginning the Sunday after your child’s third birthday, we ask that you attempt to keep your child in service until dismissal to their class. If your child becomes restless, you may bring them to the Lil’ Ripples classroom (not the nursery) and remain with them.
During this transition period, we are kindly asking that a parent remain with the child, or ensure another parent is present and willing to sit with them. Parents are welcome to take turns assisting each other with children who are having difficulty with the change. We will make sure that coloring materials and other quiet activities will be available for your child while you wait for the teacher to arrive. Once the teacher arrives, you are welcomed to return to the worship service.
